Unleashing Raw Power: The Fox ESS BEAST (H3 Plus) Inrush Current Test
Have you ever been the victim of massive inrush currents? Dealing with sudden power surges when starting heavy machinery is a major challenge, especially when relying on off-grid solar solutions. To tackle this issue head-on, this video features Mark Becker, Founder of MSPD Africa and dedicated partner of Fox ESS in South Africa, as he joins Tymon, the brilliant engineer and “father of the BEAST”.
Here at MSPD Africa, we understand that the African market demands robust, uncompromising power. That is why we are thrilled to introduce you to the ultimate solution: the Fox ESS H3 Plus, affectionately known as ‘The Beast’.
Designed for the African Market
To truly understand what makes this inverter so special, we went straight to the source. Tymon specifically designed the Fox ESS BEAST (H3 Plus) to be a “whoppingly powerful” system tailored exactly to the demanding needs of the African energy market. But we didn’t just take his word for it—we put it to the ultimate test.
The Off-Grid Lab Test Setup
We wanted to see exactly how much raw, brute power the Fox ESS BEAST (H3 Plus) could handle, so we took it into our lab for a rigorous off-grid test.
To ensure the test was authentic, we completely disconnected from the grid, with the system clearly indicating it was “not from the grid”. We then connected the inverter to a challenging load: a bank of really old wire in the delta-format motors. Our team member, Nick, then fired them up to force a massive power surge.
The Staggering Results: 350 kW of Raw Power
When the motors started, the numbers recorded were absolutely incredible:
Inrush Power: A staggering 350 kW
Inrush Current: More than 500 amps (RMS Valley)
The Fox ESS BEAST (H3 Plus) took on over 350 kW of raw brute power without flinching, operating flawlessly while completely off-grid.
Time to Go Fox with ‘The Beast’
If you are running heavy industrial equipment or simply need a system that won’t trip the moment you demand high startup power, this system is your answer. We want to extend a massive thank you to Tymon for engineering such an incredible, resilient system for our continent.
Let’s GO Fox with the ‘BEAST!”
