SOLAX X1 & X3 Hybrid

Please read this document and watch this video for an overview of the different work battery work modes.

During load shedding for clients with SOLAX X1 & X3 Hybrid we recommend setting you inverter to ‘backup mode’. During this mode, your inverter stance will change from self-use mode to backup mode where all available solar power will be used to charge your battery and kept in reserve for load shedding.

After periods of high load shedding are over please set your system back to self-use mode.

You can set forced time charge in addition to backup mode to ensure your battery is at full capacity at all times.

In this video we show you the steps to set your batteries minimum grid-tie limit. ie the minimum limit that your batteries will be drained to while tied to the grid (when there is no load shedding). This portion of your batteries will not be used during your batteries daily cycle but left in reserve for backup power when the grid is not available.

Please watch this video for an overview of the SOLAX Cloud (www.solaxcloud.com) solar monitoring web portal app.

In the event that more power is drawn from your SOLAX Hybrid than it can deliver it will shut down to self protect it from damage and display and error showing EPS Overload. If this occurs follow the instructions in the video below to restart your inverter.

If your inverter overloads again we recommend turning off all the breakers in your DB Board except for your lights and restart your system. Once your inverter has restarted bring back one circuit breaker at a time and eliminate the offending high load item.

Typical overload culprits are items with a heater, cooler or motor, ie water boost or borehole pumps.

The information provided by your SOLAX Cloud App is dependant on your inverter having a connection to your local wifi router.

In the event that there is no data showing on your SOLAX Cloud App or the SOLAX Cloud Web Portal in just the same way as you would need to connect your smartphone or tablet to your wifi network the same needs to be done with your inverter.

If this happens on a frequent basis we recommend installing a LAN Cable and hardwiring your inverter to your network.
